Boxing & Power Classes


Boxercise Classes:

Having introduced Boxercise classes into South Africa in the 90’s, we are experts in our field and have honed this strenuous workout, into a fun, social and rewarding experience.

This fourty-five minute long class is on offer 5 times a week. If you want to get back into shape, maintain your fitness level, get seriously fit or strengthen your core, then this class is for you! The classes combine cardio, core and strength exercises as well as bag work.


Boxfit – Fresh, fun & funky:

BoxFit is a low impact, high-energy workout that incorporates solid pad work, weight training and conditioning, cardio workout and core strengthening with an emphasis placed on boxing.

BoxFit is available on a one-to-one or group basis. BoxFit is the best stress buster and fat burner around. It is considered one of the most effective forms of cross-training available today. Helping you: increase your fitness and stamina, lose weight and tone up all at the same time, making it one of the most effective ways to exercise. BoxFit is a fun, motivational, safe, stress-busting workout which is suitable for all ages and levels of ability.

Boxing for Beginners:

Ever thought boxing was cool, but felt intimidated to take a swing at it?
Ever fantasized about trying to box?

Unsure if you are fit enough? Strong enough? Could keep up with the pace? …or if boxing is for you at all?

This class is for you!

Team Castellan, is happy to introduce a Boxing for Beginners class, helping you test the waters before you commit.

The class will teach you the fundamentals of boxing, punching, jabbing, stances and technique as well as putting you through an initial cardio and fitness workout. You will follow your trainer and learn boxing techniques, how to wrap your hands and work the punching bag. By combining cardio and strengthening exercises, we ensure you’ll build muscle, burn calories and enjoy your first boxing experience!

The Boxing for Beginners class will be held on the 1st Saturday of every month from 10:00 – 11:00 and is limited to 15 people per class.

KDB – Kids Dynamic Box

Moms and Dads bring your children in for a Dynamic Boxing Class , the class aims to assist your children to reach their optimal health and physical levels. The class will help improve their hand eye coordination, improve their confidence and develop those all important social skills while having fun at the same time. It will allow them to interact in a social environment and build up a passion for sports!.  The class also teaches them to defend themselves against a bully or an attacker.


Your instructor is well versed with the needs and physical abilities of your little ones and while they will be challenged, this will be done in a fun, controlled and at all times safe environment.

Your Instructor:  Andrew Matabola. Andrew started boxing at the age of 12 and turned professional at the age of 19. In 1995 Andrew became the South African Champion (Feather Weight Division) a title which he held for 4 consecutive years.


KBB Classes (Kettlebell Box)

The ultimate endurance building workout for stellar stamina!

This class is not for the faint hearted! Combining the intensity, speed and cardio of boxing together with the strength, conditioning and explosive power of the kettlebell – we bring you the KBB Workout. A High Octane Cardio (HOC) workout that is great for building endurance and stamina, not to mention fat burning.
A workout that sculpts, tones and strengthens the entire body! The class focuses on low weights with high repetition movements. KBB is one of the fastest ways to get in shape as it challenges all the major muscle groups.

Be warned, this is a power hour of hard work, sweat and results!
